You're going to love Bali, but just to be sure, I'm sharing here some of my top Bali tips to inspire your Bali trip! Bali is a small magical volcanic island. Full of love, beaches, jungles, sunshine, rain, surfers, hippies, yogis, and what do I know. From north to south to east to west, Bali is full of experiences, beautiful nature and people who all have their own unique history.
My Bali travel tips are very subjective - and you will definitely find your own favorite places.
OUR TOP-10 EATING PLACES IN CANGGU:
THE SHADY SHACK
Delicious place for breakfast, lunch or dinner with a cozy outdoor area where you can chill and hang out. There is a good atmosphere and fast wifi here. Their salads are always fresh and tasty, as are their veggie burgers. They also have a large selection of fresh cakes and chocolates that are super delicious if you just need a snack. Also try their Choc Mint Protein Smoothie, or their Shack Attack Burger, which are some of our favorites.
I AM VEGAN BABE
Plant-based cafe without compromising on the good taste. We often come here for breakfast for their smoothie bowls, gluten-free waffles or the vegan version of the "English Breakfast". There are good promo offers if you arrive before 9 in the morning and there is a nice view of rice fields from the 1st floor, even though you are right in the heart of Canggu.
COPENHAGEN CANGGU
When you miss them at home, Copenhagen is the place. They have a good concept with many small Scandinavian-inspired dishes. It's one of our favorite places for a late breakfast, and they have Danish classics like cinnamon snails and avo on rye bread. Here you can get it all, and yes, it is owned by a Danish couple who have settled in Bali.
RISE AND SHINE BALI
Another lovely breakfast and lunch place serving coffee, tea, fresh juices on their terrace. Fresh ingredients and always smiling service. It is right next to @COPENHAGEN
BOTTEGA ITALIANA
All the best that Italy has to offer. Only premium, organic ingredients are used here. The home-cooked food menu ranges from fresh pasta and traditional sauces to panini (vegetarian/vegan options also available) and air-dried meats and cheeses. Remember to book a table if you plan to come in the evening.
MONSIEUR SPOON
A family-run French bakery-café started by two Parisian cousins in 2012, Monsieur Spoon serves a tempting selection of handmade French pastries and breads in a relaxed, inviting environment. Tip: Try their chocolate croissants, which are our daughter's favorite after a demanding surf class at the beach.
CRATE CAFE
Locally owned breakfast place with a great vibe. Good and cheap with large portions. Is popular and can get quite full, so come early to secure a good table. Remember cash, sometimes they "forget" to bring the card terminal to work😁
SUPERFOOD CANGGU
Laid-back atmosphere with a twist of Bali. Try their mix-your-own salad bowls, where you can choose from more than 40 ingredients. Don't be fooled by their smoothie bowls, which they serve in chilled coconut shells so they stay cold and super fresh.
YEMA BALI
A small Moroccan-inspired oasis which is particularly cozy in the evening, where you can sit in their courtyard. The food is well prepared and they also make good mocktails (and cocktails!). There is also a small design shop with local crafts. Tip: Try their chicken cooked on the grill.
LA BARACCA
The best pizzas in Canggu (both with and without gluten), although they have tough competition from ACME in Pererenan. If you want to eat at the place, which is comfortably furnished with a Bali-Italy vibe, it is a good idea to book a table. Tuesday evening is '"all you can eat", if you want to try several different varieties.
BONUS: Two eco supermarkets if you want to shop for a light meal or fill up your travel bag with delicious snacks:
BALI BUDDHA
An organic small supermarket with a small cafe on the ground floor
ALIVE WHOLEFOODS
Another great little organic supermarket. You can buy groceries, fruit and vegetables and a lot of wonderful local beauty products here.
